A municipality of 650 inhabitants kept a legend between fiction and reality for decades. It was the story that Aurora Mañá, a teacher and seamstress in Calvos de Randín, used to tell her grandchildren: In the early hours of February 22, 1944, the local residents woke up to explosions coming from the mountain.
