(ES) Domingo tiene casi 90 años y vive solo en Noceda, en A Fonsagrada, Lugo, noroeste de España. Hasta hace poco tiempo, aún utilizaba un carro de vacas que mandó hacer él mismo. "Esto era como un desierto. No había carreteras, no había nada. No me casé y me fui quedando aquí. Ahora, al quedar solo, ya ves...", rememora. A Fonsagrada es el municipio más grande de Galicia, con más de 438 km². Tiene más superficie que países como Malta o Liechtenstein. Situado en una zona muy montañosa, cuenta con 600 kilómetros de carreteras, casi todas ellas estrechas y serpenteantes. En esta zona de Galicia es palpable el problema de las distancias, lo que dificulta el acceso a servicios básicos como tiendas de alimentación y otro tipo de establecimientos. ES) Vista de una vivienda del antiguo pueblo de Aceredo, en Lobios (Ourense) que quedó sepultado en la década de los noventa por las aguas del embalse de Lindoso y que volvió a emerger por el vaciado del embalse y la sequía. El proyecto de construcción del embalse nació de un acuerdo entre las dictaduras de Franco y Salazar y se ejecutó décadas después (1992), borró del mapa las casas de cuatro aldeas.El dictador Franco maltrató con persistencia las zonas rurales. Propició un gran éxodo e hizo insalvables los desequilibrios entre el campo y la ciudad. Su fiebre por construir pantanos que servían para abastecer de agua y electricidad a las grandes ciudades acabó con un sistema de vida. Familias como las de Aceredo se vieron obligadas a abandonar sus casas forzosamente y dejar sus negocios.
