After the summer wildfires, groups of volunteers and environmental organizations, together with the Xunta de Galicia, organize patrols to prevent erosion from runoff or the pollution of rivers with the arrival of the rains. There is broad agreement that more planning, more outreach, and more actions are needed to avoid greater environmental damage in Galicia’s forests and rivers. And there is one thing that connects both urban and rural populations: their devotion to nature.
