Presentation Piece

“Habitar o baleiro” (Inhabiting the Void) is a documentary piece that portrays the phenomenon of depopulation in the western rural areas, using Galicia as an example. It highlights the contrast between traditions that are disappearing and new ways of living and working that are trying to take root. Although we do not know what will become of the countryside and its villages, it is possible that we are facing the last opportunity to document rural society. But this film may also be, at the same time, a milestone in raising awareness of the reality of a world outside the city that still has a chance.
